Working to influence governments and politicians in the interests of care working and social care workers
The Parliament at Westminster is responsible for UK-wide legislation and policy which has a direct effect on social care and care workers in the UK . Westminster is also responsible for specific legislation and policy in England.
Social care and policy is devolved for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales).
NACAS seeks to influence the government, political parties and individual MP's in the interests of care working and care workers.

Our CEO Sabina Kelly represents NACAS and it's members on the APPG for Adult Social Care, the Minister of State for Health & Social Care, social care workforce meeting group and the Dept of Health & Social Care Flu Vaccination for Social Care Workers Stakeholder Steering Group.
The All Party Parliamentary Group on Adult Social Care
Recently reformed the All Party Parliamentary Group on Adult Social Care, launched an enquiry in the professionalising of the social care workforce. NACAS was one of a number of social care stakeholders, invited to give oral evidence to the committee.
Our evidence was used to inform the APPG's comprehensive report the Future of Adult Social Care, in which a number of recommendations were made.

Minister of State Workforce Meeting Group
A new sector steering group, hosted by Helen Whately MP, Minister of State for Health & Social Care, NACAS interests are represented by Sabina Kelly. Discussions include registration of the care workforce in England, professional recognition, and parity with our NHS colleagues.
